Garage Door Spring Replacement
The most common failure on a residential door. We carry stock and high-cycle springs on every truck.
02What you get
A torsion spring is rated for about 10,000 cycles — roughly seven years of daily use. When it breaks, your opener can't lift the door's weight. We replace springs in pairs because the second one is usually a few months behind the first, and we offer 25,000-cycle high-cycle springs for high-use households.
- 01Standard 10,000-cycle galvanized springs
- 02High-cycle 25,000-cycle springs available
- 03Always replaced in matched pairs
- 04Galvanized hardware for coastal and humid climates
- 05Most spring jobs completed in under 45 minutes
03When you need this
Signs to call us.
- Loud bang from the garage and the door won't lift
- Visible gap in the torsion spring coils
- Door feels twice as heavy as usual when lifted manually
- Spring rust streaks or coil separation visible on inspection
04What we see
Common failure
modes.
01
Single spring snapped, second spring stretched
Why we replace in pairs. The intact spring has logged the same wear and will fail within months.
02
Wrong-size spring installed previously
We measure door weight and spec the correct wire-gauge/inside-diameter combo for the actual load.
03
Rust on coil from humid environment
Coastal and humid markets benefit from galvanized springs. We stock galvanized standard for those regions.
